 March 24, 2005 - AoMM single release in UK - [Alsou news]

Always On My Mind single should have been released in UK now.
A two different edtions should be available: a normal version with 3 remixes and a music video (in quicktime), and limited edition with album version and Supafly Radio edit.
There is also a differance in a cover colours (click on thumbnail, added limited version covers)

PS [updated]- Looks like the single is delayed again (amazon says "Always On My Mind" single will be released 4 april but anyway this date also isn't sure to be final..)

 March 24, 2005 - UK Arena tour is finished today & first concert review - [Update]

Today Alsou finished her support (Westlife) tour in UK.
I added the first Alsou UK Arena concerts enthusiastic review wrote by Ross (thanks), added into reviews section (Glasgow - 15 March).
Hopefully I will also add some more tour photos in a next update.

 March 24, 2005 - Alsou two nominations on Russian NMA 2005 - [Alsou news]

Alsou received two nominations on annual National Music Awards "Muz-TV" held by Muz-TV channel.
In "Best Female Artist" Alsou, the winner of 2003 ceremony, competes with Kristina Orbakaite, the daughter of Russian pop-diva Alla Pugacheva, and rock star Zemfira.
In "Best video" nomination there are CGI video of Glukoza, video of new group "UmaTurman" and Joseph Kahn's clip for "Always On My Mind".

Yes, an old host is now back online so ALL video downloads in our media sections are working again! Unfortunately that has happen only for a very short time because it will be online only until the 12 of March morning so you need to be fast and choose to download something in what you're most interested There isn't yet known for sure how soon this host will be back for a longer time. She said: 'It's a duet with Nelly and we're all really excited about it. It's the song that's going to really break me here... and Nelly loves it, too.'

Alsou premiered #1 in Music Week Chart! She is #1 in Pop Chart and #3 Club.
The remixes are played by UK DJs (for example Kev Hill), and the song occupies 1st place in "DJ In The Mix" chart compiled by DJs and for DJs; it is also in DMCworld DJ charts (UK house chart - 7, World - 8, UK - 8, UK Mainstream - 13, UK club - 7).  February 15, 2005 - "Spirit Trap" premier at Sundance Film Festival - [Alsou news]

Alsou's debut movie, "Spirit Trap", will be premiered this Spring on Sundance Film Festival, which is held annually in Park City and Salt Lake City (Utah, USA). After that "Spirit Trap" will hit the screens of USA and UK. The festival is famous for provoking the mass interest to such pictures as "Musician", "The Blair Witch" and "Sex, Lies And Video.  February 15, 2005 - New Russian song & video shooting - [Alsou news]

While the promotion of Alsou's international album "Inspired" is being launched on the West, tomorrow her 1st single from Russian album being recorded will be premiered on "Russian Radio". As we've already reported, the song is called "Tam, Gde Rozhdaetsya Svet", the music was composed by Russian singer Mourat Nasyrov (who also has an unreleased English version of the song) and the lyrics were written by Alsou's Russian manager Vadim Baikov. The video will feature Alsou teleporting from a flower glade to the room, airport terminal, shop window and to the TV-set.

On 21st February, Mercury Records will release the debut single from Russia’s biggest sensation, Alsou, her single “Always On My Mind” is a slick R&B ballad taken from her album “Inspired” which is out this Spring.

The Russian princess has gone from breaking records in her home country to working with some of the hottest R&B producers and directors in the business to make one explosive, pop tinged R&B collection of hits. US rap sensation Nelly performs a duet with Alsou on “Inspired” and the video for her first single “Always On My Mind” was directed by the legendary Joseph Khan (Missy Elliot, Britney Spears).

She may have just celebrated her 21st birthday but Alsou has already lived a life it would be impossible to invent. She has changed the face of popular music in her home country, made her big screen debut in a teen horror movie “Spirit Trap” where she stars alongside Billie Piper, Sam Troughton (Alien V Predator) and Luke Mably (The Prince & Me), forged a new life in three different countries, starred in her own couture fashion shoot in Russian Vogue and, most importantly of all, written a stunning album set to show the rest of the world what they've been missing out on.

Despite the fact that British promotion of "Always On My Mind" hasn't yet started, Alsou's name appears in magazines more and more often. "Top Of The Pops" mentions Alsou among artists whose music will be listened to in 2005 ("Soulful, Russian, R'n'B pop"). "Smash Hits" says that "AoMM" is a "proper pop tune from a Russian princess". And here's "TV Hits" quote (the magazine predicts Top 10 to the song): "A great debut from Russia's finest expost since, erm... beetroot soup? Smoochy, sexy R'n'B that could tuen Alsou into the female Usher if she plays her card right. Crack out the bling, girl!"

January 24, 2005 - New Russian song and video - [Alsou news]  

15th of January in the pavillion of "Centernauchfilm" studio (Moscow) Alsou has shot her new video for the Russian song "Tam, Gde Rozhdaetsya Svet" ("There Where The Light Is Being Born"). The video was directed by Andrey Boltenko (he has worked on "You're My #1" and "Mechty" videos and Alsou's "Trilogy" concerts). According to Andrey's idea, the video will be fairy-tale-alike, and Alsou will appear there as a "forest nymph", wearing live flowers and lianes. For Alsou the preparation process began 12 PM and the shooting finished 5 AM the next day. Furnishing Alsou's dress with live flowers took about 4 hours. The work on the video promises to be long and toilful. Presumably the clip will be ready to the middle of February.
